Après le Prix Nobel qui a consacré sa notoriété, l’infatigable avocate des droits de l’homme, nous entraîne de Téhéran à Bogota et nous raconte son parcours de militante. Avant la Révolution islamique de 1979, Shirin Ebadi avait été la première femme d’Iran à accéder à la fonction de juge. Elle est devenue avocate des libertés et des droits civiques, lesquels ne sont nullement incompatibles avec l’islam, répète ici cette musulmane proclamée qui ne cesse de combattre le désastre que représente, à ses yeux, un pouvoir autoritaire instauré au nom de la religion. Shirin Ebadi rappelle que les femmes d’Iran constituent désormais, grâce aux études, une force sociale considérable. Elles représentent ainsi aujourd’hui 63 % des étudiants, contre moins de 25 % dans les années 70.
