En 2004, le Roi du Maroc met en place une commission pour l’équité et la réconciliation pour enquêter sur la violence d’État durant « les années de plomb ». Le film accompagne durant trois ans, quatre familles dans leur quête de la vérité : eux-mêmes ou les membres de leur famille ont été emprisonnés dans différents lieux disséminés dans le pays. Mais quarante ans plus tard, le secret d’État finit par dévoiler l’existence d’un autre secret, plus intime, le secret de famille.
In 2004, the King of Morocco launched an Equity and Reconciliation Commission to investigate state violence during the “years of lead”. For three years, the film accompanies four families in their search for the truth: either they or their relations were imprisoned in different widely spread parts of Morocco. But, forty years later, the state secret finally unveils the existence of another, more intimate secret, the family secret.
في 2004 أمر ملك المغرب بإنشاء لجنة للإنصاف والمصالحة، بغرض التحقيق حول عنف الدولة خلال "سنوات الرصاص"، ويتابع الشريط خلال ثلاثة أعوام أربع عائلات تبحث عن الحقيقة: فقد كانوا – هم أو عائلاتهم – سجناء في أماكن متفرقة من البلاد، ولكنهم يكتشفون بعد أربعين عاما أنّ سرّ الدولة قد انتهى بالكشف عن سرّ آخر أكثر خصوصية، هو سرّ العائلة.
